ABOUT US
At the 1990 Gay Games III in Vancouver, wrestling club leaders from across the globe organized to develop high standards and procedures for future Gay Games, and Wrestlers Without Borders was born.

In 2006 our bylaws were revised to expand our mission, and in 2024 we rebranded as Wrestling Without Borders. Today, we are an international organization of clubs and individuals working to promote the sport of wrestling, and help our clubs provide safe, fun, and competitive wrestling opportunities in inclusive and welcoming environments.

Tournaments sanctioned by WWB observe United World Wrestling rules, modified to enhance participation, inclusion and safety. Membership is open to individuals and legitimate wrestling clubs who have demonstrated a commitment to wrestlers of all ages, race, gender or orientations in a safe, non-elitist environment and who adhere to the policies and procedures as set forth by the FGG.
